It's a miracle that a band like Dead Can Dance exists.

I second that.
Lisa Gerrard has done some amazing stuff solo as well. Check out her album with Pieter Burke, "Dualism". The track "Sacrifice" is perhaps the best
thing she's ever done. Hardly any music manages to convey what she does in that track.

Guys, how does one give up drinking? Because I'm starting to get fed up with not remembering half the parties I've gone to recently and not being at
all in control of myself.
The worst example of late: I had a house warming party on Saturday and invited a girl I'm pretty much interested in. She came really late and by then
I was really stoned and drunk, so basically.. nothing. Except she met a friend of mine at the party, so now I have a competitor. Fuuck.. Though the
giving up drinking thing isn't really about this specific party, but about a bunch of the ones I've been to recently.
Plus, every time I wake up in the morning, hangover or not, and realize I was drunk last night, I quickly realize that I was probably pretty obnoxious
as well. Hate that..
So.. is this possible? Giving up drinking on big social occasions? If it's just a few beers with friends, I'm still ok with it I suppose.
I was not. Then I came to be. I can not remember not being, but I may have travelled far, very far to get here. Now I am here. Sweet. Coffee? Tea?

I don't really know how one "gives up" drinking as I've never had a problem with it, but I can assure you that unless you have stupid friends and/or
are stupid yourself, not drinking anytime anywhere is nothing to worry about.
I see a lot of people more or less throwing parties as an excuse to drink, or make drinking a party itself. If you want to get drunk then sure,
drinking is the best party, but if you just want to party for the sake of partying (being social, meeting new people, forming romantic relations,
dancing, having fun, etc.) drinking is more a hinderance than anything.
I never drink to the point of getting drunk, usually nothing at all. I've never understood the fun in being drunk. I'm not that big on partying,
either, actually, but my friends are so I kind of tag along. I never drink at these parties, regardless if everyone else is, and I don't think my part
in it has suffered in any way from this. Compared to my teenage parties when I used to drink a lot with my friends, I'd say my current parties are a
shitload of more fun. Partying is not so much about getting drunk as they are about partying nowadays. Meeting new people, talking, falling in love,
etc. - it all works out better when you know what you're saying and can decide what not to say. You know? :)
The only problem with giving up drinking, as said, is if you are all stupid. If your friends don't think you can hang unless you're drunk, not taking
a no for an answer, and you give in to that, or whatever.
But if you've got cool friends, and some balls to stand up for yourself, then having a straight coke won't get in the way of your fun in any way, I'm
sure.
At least try it once or twice. First time might just be boring and awkward, so give it a second spin.

Yeah.. I'm usually cool with it, only I really like beer. So.. it's like I usually know when I've had just the right amount, but if I get carried
away, that's when things get bad.
I've sort of noticed that no drugs are good for your social abilities, that's the main reason I'm trying to at least cut down on the drinks.
It's usually that I just get carried away, not that I'd have some serious peer pressure to get wasted every time.

Beer (the good kind) is the love of my life, and I will never give it up. However, I normally don't have more than 2 per night.
The health benefits of beer aren't terribly great, but there are a few. Monks once reffered to it as liquid bread. It has a nice dose of iron and
other minerals. Red wine is better overall (antioxidants and what-have-you), but that doesn't matter much. Good beer is infinitely cheaper than good
wine anyway.
I'm a man of vices, but I try not to get carried away. I'll drink coffee (my most expensive habit, at a cup per day), smoke cigars, eat dark
chocolate, sparingly use psychedelics, watch pornography, etc. All of this is pretty much fine in moderation. It helps to be a health nazi and get
your proper fill of nutrition and exercise every day. If you're well disciplined, you can keep these pleasures from hindering your health and
wallet.

That depends. When you're introverted like me, it makes you a little more uninhibited and enthousiastic, and might help you get in the habit of
tapping into this behavior when you're sober. I'm told I'm "awesome" on mushrooms due to the absurd things I would say and do. What this all probably
means is I need to get out of my solitary shell more often, but drugs definitely help at that.
