Well, Daniel does play video games most hours of the day when he's not browsing the internet for comments about Pain of Salvation or his teeth. But
believe me, he's won more Halo tournaments than music competitions.

Well, it seems like they may have a little bit of new followers..
On snowfish.com , linoleum, if you wait and kingdom of loss are the three songs that have been listened to the most..
But the player doesn't seem to be working anymore though..

Pain of Salvation! Here's a ballad that ...is slow. These are some tough guys that aren't afraid of showing their emotions."

I kind of chuckled at the tough guys part. Hallgren looked like some kind of wild animal on the stage.

...and out of the 21 blogs in the "it was bad" category, at least 5-6 were mislabeled. Actually liked the song.

Also interesting to note that after Ola and Salem, who both went to finals, PoS has the third highest popularity (counting positive+negative) overall.
So, for good or bad, they're definitely getting a lot of publicity :)

Yeah, but I doubt anyone who pays attention to Melodifestivalen will actually stick with the band. I know it seems general, but a lot of the people
watching these things who enjoy these 3 minute songs simply don't have the attention span to stick with a certain band. No matter who wins, they will
find a new icon of enjoyment next year... next month even. I'm not criticizing this way of viewing music, but I do not expect a new bunch of
dedicated fans to PoS, coming from a scene where music is supposed to be taken so lightly....

On the other hand, if you look at the statistics, not all people looking at this contest are of that kind. We watch it as well, to get some lulz, yes,
but I think more people than you think are watching it for that reason and might be pleasantly surprised by a non Cliché band.
I even bought a CD last year from a band doing preselections, they also were dropped from the contest very fast due to the very a-typical song, but it
was good music nevertheless

Half of Sweden is watching. Among those, I doubt there are only superficial music-of-the-year listeners. There are probably a lot, but not even close
to all.

My warderobe:
Daniel Gildenlöw
Hi there, Daniel Gildenlöw, singer in Pain of Salvation who fight for a place in the Melodifestivalen finals. Tell us about your stage outfit!
- The tank top is from Björn Borg and the jeans are at least ten years old. The clothes are both simple and the most inexpensive anyone has ever worn
in Melodifestivalen. It feels brave and perfectly right for the song. Both vulnerable and strong.
Aftonbladet’s reviewer gave your outfit one plus [out of five]. How would you grade them?
- A spot on five, if one considers how well the clothing fits the fragility of the song. Being barefeeted on stage also enhances that feeling of
weakness. You feel exposed.
You were criticised for the hole in the jeans. Are they genuine?
- The hole is real. I would never cut my jeans. At the same time, I understand the grade. How many pluses could one possibly get for a pair of jeans
and a tank top if the task is to grade fashion? But it would’ve been fun to get at least two pluses.
How many pairs of jeans do you have?
- About 15 pairs. I have a bunch of old 70s jeans that my father gave me.
The ultimate eurovision outfit?
- It depends, but dresses are always nice. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit everybody. We’ve actually taken photos of the band in dresses and skirts that
I’m quite pleased with. In one shot we were completely naked.
Any particular eurovision outfit that you remember?
- Carola’s chicken-yellow stage clothes when she made it big with Främling. I also like Monica Zetterlund from the 1963 Eurovision – very beautiful
and stylistically pure.
What are the worst outfits you’ve seen in Melodifestivalen?
- Charlotte Perrelli’s outfit in the 1999 Eurovision. She’s so pretty in herself and the clothes steal that focus away from her as an artist.
What do you most enjoy to wear on stage?
- I wear a lot of t-shirts for practical reasons since you need to cool off. Normally, we play for two or three hours and mixes everything from folk
music, jazz and funk, and then it’s pretty hard to find stage clothes that fit with everything.
What’s your favourite warderobe item?
- A t-shirt that I bought in the children’s section that I look very good in. It has a brown and orange 70s print and it fits perfectly on my upper
body.
Were in Stockholm do you do your shopping?
- I dive head first into various second hand stores in search for hidden gems.
Any role model in fashion?
- The king of style – Johnny Depp. He’s always proper. But I can get envious of artists like Thomas Di Leva and Roger Pontare. They’re like their own
fashion industries that never quite succeed but never quite fail either.

Just curious, something about Madonna and Pain of Salvation oughta be intersesting...:eek

It would be kinda cool if people maybe could post a translation along with the original Swedish quote from now on? If they ran it through Google
Translate anyway?

No, that's what I'm asking for... :p frantyk for example posted a lot of quotes in Swedish, but I gather he used google translate in the first place,
so he might as well post those here too? I don't mind, I mostly understand, but some people might find it helpful. :)

The band image from the cartoon strip that accompanied their introduction is now uploaded. I found the strip totally awesome and it's a shame they
won't release the entire thing. This is still cool, though:

Either Per lost his hair or they decided to depict Simon there for some reason or they just drew a generic bassist or something. With elven ears.
:P
Quite cool otherwise.

Perhaps because Per is, officially, not a proper member of the band. He's only on "try-out" status. Why they didn't simply remove him completely,
though, I don't get.

Their Snowfish profile for the Melodifestivalen has him listed as one of the members though. Anyway, we are discussing trivial stuff. :P
