Well, to begin with, I certainly like it. It's my kind of power metal...catchy, a little progressive (as far as power metal goes) and cheesy in the right way.
My favourites are pretty much:
March Of Mephisto - the growls could be better, but they aren't bad. heavy riff and good vocals. nice video too
When The Lights Are Down - not another Center Of The Universe, but it grew on me nicely, I really like that last "come all ye faithful..." part.
Soul Society - just a good song all around
Abandoned - nice ballad.
Nothing Ever Dies

The second half of the album is a little harder for me to pay attention to...I don't remember so much of some of the songs. I like This Pain and Moonlight too, I just can't remember why. :p Memento Mori is...ok, but it doesn't do much for me. Then after that the last two songs really don't hold my interest at all.

And Jens Johansson shouldn't have played any solos on this album (they don't fit their sound at all) and Shagrath should've been replaced by either Ihsahn or some good growler.

Everyone buy (or at the very least download) the Sage Francis album too.
Primordial too, nice epic stuff.

The Primordial album is my favorite of the year so far (that will likely change when Deadwing arrives)...highly epic and emotional, Alan N. is one of the most underrated vocalists in metal.

Hmmm. I have more, but the last 2 or 3 I've really "re-aquainted" myself through purchase are:

Conception "Flow" (those who like Kamelot will know the singer). The best Conception for me, but most proggers probably disagree to the best of my knowledge. It is the most accessible.

Freak Kitchen (self-titled). "Move" is my fav, but I am doing the part of consumer. I know it's hard, but someone has to do it.

Infected Mushroom(goa, psytrance) "Im The Supervisor". Again, I already have digital copies, but I had to get it through my media club because I believe that if you like something so much, you should have it all by yourself (not by a friend, internet, whatever).... It's not B.P. Empire, but gooid. Joost, I notice you like Hallucinogen. Get BP Empire if you like Goa/Psy..... probably an unnecessary statement but if not, you will not be dissapointed.

Devil Doll (already mentioned before, no more discussion necessary) Devil Doll did make me pull out Will: "Word Flesh Stone" though. It's been a while for that one.

I have been actively buying lately too, but aside from listening to PoS and a few others, the others will have to rest until whenever.... or until this Infected Mushroom in my headphones ends.

Holy fuck, by far the BEST Savatage album for me. Give it 2 or 3 tries pls..... I know most of my metal friends like Streets or other albums... Criss O, RIP.

That album was one of a few that pulled me through undergrad... :smokin

You are thinking of the band Sanctuary. I would rate that era Savatage better than that stuff.

Though, I must admit there is nothing better than singing on Nevermore at certain times.

I agree with the Jens Johansson part. I hate this obseesion power metal has with stupid keyboard solos... beyond that, it's a VERY solid release.

Wow...lately Deadwing has been the 'heaviest' cd bought, otherwise I'm leaning towards the other oend of my music taste spectrum, electronic:

Infected Mushroom - IM the Supervisor :eek
Hallucinogen - The Lone Deranger :D
Shpongle - Are You Shpongled?
Shpongle - Tales of the Inexpressible

the last mentioned is a total aural trip, i could meditate on that for hours on end...

Anyone else into trippy music?
